Kim Maclin

Kim Maclin, age 53, died July 19, 2012 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born October 16, 1958 in Royal Oak, Michigan; daughter of James King of Piggott, Arkansas and the late Marilyn Gallagher King.

Kim was a passionate and vibrant follower of Jesus. A member of First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, where she served in children and youth ministries, led small groups and Sunday school classes, and served on numerous church committees. A musician and vocalist, she helped pioneer what is now the Journey Worship Service. Kim was a Stephen Minister and directed the Hope's Waiting Christian Counseling Center, housed at First United Methodist Church and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Kim was a Licensed Professional Counselor, working for Sikeston Public Schools on the Special Services Team until her recent retirement.

On July 16, 2005 she married Darrel Maclin; he survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tyler (Leslie) Brooks and Trey (Casie Gaskins) Brooks both of Caruthersville, Missouri; three daughters, Kali Brooks and Elizabeth Maclin both of the home and Sarah Perry of Jackson, Missouri; one brother, Jim King of Marion, Arkansas; and five grandchildren, Jackson Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Hayden Perry, Rhett Perry and Gabriel Perry.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Wright.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 22, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the Browns Chapel Cemetery at Brosley, Missouri.
